Since fire is one of the most common hazards in the workplace, it is important for your employees to know how to properly use a fire extinguisher if a fire should break out.
Of course, fire prevention is always the best safety policy to follow, but prevention is not always possible. Per the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.157(g)(1), the employer shall provide the education program to familiarize employees with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage firefighting.
The training system we utilize is state of the art which provides the same firefighting experience as conventional methods, but in a "Greener" and "Safer" manner. The fire extinguisher system senses where the student aims and sweeps the compressed air and water SmartExtinguisher and varies the flames automatically. The SmartProp provides a realistic flame pattern, but also requires that students use the proper technique for the flame to extinguish.
With the SmartProp Technology, we utilize propane and water and generate "NO" hazardous waste from the use of standard dry chemical powder with saturated hydrocarbons. This provides for a more environmentally friendly way to provide the same fire intensity with little to no impact on the environment.
All training complies with the provisions of the California Code of Regulations Title 8 Section 6151(g)(1)-(4), Title 29 Code of Federal Regulations 1910.158(g)(1)-(4) and AQMD requirements.

Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) is a blanket term that refers to government-mandated hazardous waste operations that are conducted in the US under OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.120 and Cal OSHA Standard Title 8 CCR 5192. Among currently existing OSHA standards, HAZWOPER is one of the most sensitive and highly ranked in terms of importance. So for any company that deals with these operations on a regular basis, the proper HAZWOPER training is paramount to achieving OSHA compliance.
To assist companies in becoming compliant with this OSHA standard, with the least amount of financial and operational expenditures, Global Training and Compliance, Inc. offers FRA, FRO, 24, and 40 hour HAZWOPER training courses designed to teach as much as possible regarding the hazardous waste operations that make up HAZWOPER. Training topics include clean-up operations required by federal, state, or local governmental bodies, operations involving hazardous waste conducted at treatment, storage, and disposal (TSD) facilities, and emergency response operations for substantial threats posed by hazardous substances.
Our HAZWOPER training courses can be arranged as on-site, hands-on training or held at our location. We pride ourselves in specializing in several forms of environmental, health, and safety training in order to ensure that clients receive only the best and most current courses available throughout the industry.
Approximately 3 million workers in the United States on a daily basis, face extreme risk from uncontrolled energy when servicing machinery. Serious injury or death can be the result. Typical non-lethal injuries include fractures, lacerations, contusions, amputations, puncture wounds, electrical shock, and falls The average lost time for injuries runs approximately 24 days. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) estimates that approximately 120 fatalities and approximately 28,000 serious and 32,000 minor injuries each could be prevented if proper lockout/tagout procedures at job sites are initiated. This Lockout/Tagout Training Program ensures that the hazards of uncontrolled energy are evaluated, safety procedures implemented and that the proper hazard information is transmitted to all affected workers. It is easy to edit with your company specific information.
Learn how to establish, maintain, and monitor a respirator program following the requirements in 29 CFR 1910.134. Discuss the technical aspects for the proper selection and use of respiratory protection. Evaluate compliance with OSHA's standard by using the compliance directive and the "Small Entity Compliance Guide." Topics include: Respiratory Protection Program, Fit Testing Demonstration, Selection of Respirators, Maintenance and Care.
The law requires that, if feasible, engineering controls shall be used to prevent air contamination at the workplace and reduce employee exposure below the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL). When effective engineering controls are not feasible, the employer is required to provide an alternative method of employee protection such as providing an appropriate respirator for use by the employee. OSHA requires that employers shall ensure that employees using any respirator with a negative or positive pressure tight-fitting face piece pass an appropriate qualitative fit test (QLFT) or quantitative fit test (QNFT) prior to using a respirator and be fit tested with the same make, model, style, and size of respirator that will be used by the employee.
Global Training & Compliance utilizes OSHA MedCert: a fully web-based on-line respirator medical evaluation, certification and tracking system that is easy to use. OSHA MedCert is FAST & HIPAA Compliant, convenient, maintains detailed records by dept/branch within organization, cost-effective, reliable, and OSHA compliant.
